 Before being called as Good Shepherd’s Planter, Jay had a great opportunity to be the assistant at St. Thomas’s Parish in Newark, Delaware, as well as, the Episcopal Campus Minister to the University of Delaware.
Jay was ordained as a Deacon in June of 2002 at the Cathedral Church of St. John and ordained as a priest on the feast of St. Thomas the Apostle in December of 2002 at St. Thomas’s Parish. Jay had a fantastic seminary experiencein Evanston, Illinois at Seabury Western Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity in May of 2002. While studying for his Masters, Jay was in the exciting position of starting a Youth Ministry Program for St. James the Less in Northfield, Illinois.
Before being ordained, Jay was a successful retail manager for the Eddie Bauer organization in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Jay received his undergraduate degree in History at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia in 1993.
